It’s spring in Tate’s Hell. Along Tower Road titi, Carolina jessamine, thistles are blooming. In the ditches, the first white water lilies are blooming and broad-lead arrowhead are in full bloom.
Along Forestry Road 22, which is the northern border of Tate’s Hell State Forest, beyond which is the Apalachicola National Forest and the Mud Swamp Wilderness Area, the Florida state flower, the cosmos blooms.
